The MOVE to the NEW OLD house

So we moved. I know it was out of nowhere. Well, not really out of no where. Our house had been on the market for 1 month or so and it sold, the crazy part is the buyers wanted a 2 week close. Yes, that means I had 2 weeks to pack up 3500 sq. ft. and move it to the old house (the house we moved from originally but have been renting out for the last 2 years). Oh did I mention the old house is 1876 sq. ft. How the heck do I make a down size like that when we have added 1 human being, 1 dog, and about a million things to our life to fill that huge house? I did it mainly with the help of my lovely sister Barbie. What would I do without her? She helped me like you would not believe. I am not a great de-clutterer, but man alive she is a pro. Now here we sit comfortably in our 1876 sq. ft. with the wonderful feeling that this is where we need to be. We do not need things or a big house to be happy. We need simplicity (which those of you who know our crazy life know it is far from simple), but it is nice to come home to a much simpler place, a place I can manage to keep clean between 2 kids, a dog, a cat, a job, hitting lessons, boot camps, runs, and all the other things we have on our plate. It is so nice to be home and feel at home!!! We love this house and this neighborhood, it has so many wonderful memories, and there are many more to come!!!!

P.S. I promise I am going to post more often, the kids are growing so fast and I want to share it with you!!!!

He is 30.....and he survived!!!

So on February 20th Wayland officially turned 30 years old, and the world did not come to an end. Wayland has been talking about his 30th birthday since the day he turned 25. All he ever said was "When I turn 30 I am not even going to get out of bed!" or things like, "30 is so old". Well the day arrived and he got out of bed. The day started out with some business meetings over at Barney's. And then the day continued with some much needed wakeboarding. Wayland is a stud wakeboarder and he truly loves it, so I am so glad he was able to do that on his birthday. Then the fun began. I had been planning this day for weeks. It started with the ring of the doorbell at 5pm sharp. Wayland opened up the door to find a black expedition limo sitting in front of our house. It was filled with balloons, water, sodas, sparkling cider, and was eventually full of our best friends. We climbed in and the adventure began (did I mention Wayland had no clue what we were going to be doing so it was kind of a rush for all of us). So after we picked up our friends we headed out to Scottsdale to the Pink Pony restaurant where we enjoyed a quick and delicious dinner and then we were off to an improv comedy club called Jesters. This place was awesome. My sister knows the owners so she informed them before hand that it was Way's birthday and they love to pick on people who celebrate their birthdays there. So when they were wishing people happy birthday they began to ask Way a few questions about what he does for a living and for fun and our friend Lincoln spoke up as well so all of a sudden he was thrown in the mix also. So the host asked the comedians to make-up a dream that Wayland would have, and boy did they take that and run with it. They made fun of soils testing and had a ball making fun of wakeboarders. The funniest part was two comedians pretending to be Way and Lincoln wakeboarding and they just kept yelling at each other "you're AWESOME" and the other would yell back, "No you're AWESOME". It was hilarious because it really reminded us of how they are, and for the rest of the night the comedians brought Wayland or that line "no you're awesome" up in almost all of their skits. It was so funny and we are all still saying that line to each other it is great!!! After the comedy club we headed back to the QC enjoying the high life in the limo!!!! It was such a fun night and I am so glad the night went so well and thank you to all of our AWESOME friends who made Wayland's birthday such a blast. I love you Way!!!!! and I am so glad you survived your 30th birthday!!!!
P.S. I have a ton more pics I want to add so I am going to figure out how to do a slideshow this week!!!

The Infirmary

Sorry it has been so long but we have been sick. And when I say sick I mean sick. It all started Monday when Way woke up sneezing, which for those of you who know Wayland that is not a big deal, he is always sneezing. But by Monday night he had the shivers and sweats and I knew we were in for it. I was feeling great Monday, I worked, gave a hitting lesson, and did a 10 mile run. Tuesday morning was a different story the body aches began, but the kids had their well checks at the Dr. so I reluctantly and not very convincingly tried to suck it up. I forced Way out of bed by crying that I couldn't take the kids to the Dr. by myself. So away we went as a family. Well, the kid's Dr. brought more good news, Kyana has a DOUBLE ear infection and Bronchitis. She needs to get on antibiotics and breathing treatments ASAP. So that meant a stop at the pharmacy on the way home. We also decided to make a stop at our DR.'S office on the way home too, where we found out we both had the flu. Not shocking, but also not encouraging!! So at this point Jayden is the only healthy one left. So I made a call to my ANGELIC sister Barbie and filled her in and asked her if she wouldn't mind taking Jayden for us for a couple of days, and thankfully she was here to get him within a couple of hours. I am so blessed to have family close by who are willing to help. So as the week went by we all worked on recovery. I have an awesome visiting teacher who brought me homemade chicken noodle soup, and we tried to rest rejuvenate (or at least Kyana and I did, Wayland is a trooper and went to work). So here we are it is Sunday we are still coughing and now Jayden woke up with 102 degree fever. So the saga continues but I hope once he gets through it we will be all done with this garbage!!! And oh by the way I missed the Ragnar Race I was supposed to run this weekend. I was so bummed but I couldn't even take a deep breath let alone run twenty miles, partially in the middle of the night, with no sleep. But now you know how our week went I am going to finally post about my man's awesome 30th birthday party!!

THIS MAKES IT WORTH IT!!!!

So we got a puppy. I know I haven't blogged about it, but I have been busy POTTY TRAINING it, and it took us a while to figure out his name. Well, we figured out a name, it is Kodiak.
Jayden has been asking for a dog for about 6 months so finally we decided we would get him one for his birthday. It actually worked out that our friends had blue heeler pups for sale, and they were taking them to auction this past weekend so if we wanted one we needed to decide. So needless to say we got him. How can you pass him up he is so cute (even though I am not a dog person and I have never even had one let alone potty trained one).
So the last few days we have trying to get him to go potty outside and honestly he is doing pretty well, only 1 accident today and maybe 3 yesterday, and he has never pooped in the house which is great. But I have been a little frustrated trying to make sure he gets outside and isn't chewing on anything valuable like shoes or Jayden's leg. But as I walked down stairs to get Jayden some lunch I found Jayden and Kodiak asleep on the living room floor together and I thought to myself "that right there makes it all worth it". I know my little boy and that puppy are going to be the best of friends and Kodiak is an awesome addition to our family.

The Birthday Bash

February is a busy month for us. Like I said before everyone in my family besides myself was born in the same month, in fact they are all born in the same week. So Saturday we celebrated Kyana's 1st and Jayden's 3rd birthdays. Wow was it a fun celebration. We had tons of friends, food, and even a bounce house that was enjoyed by many. I even found myself out there breaking my back trying to do back flips. Anyways, Kyana got here 1st dolly (she actually got 3 of them) since she only plays with boy toys up to this point. Jayden got lots of guns, cars, and even some sidewalk chalk, which I know he will enjoy. Kyana made a mess of her cake and Jayden shot nerf bullets at all his friends. Overall, it was a blast as I am sure you can tell by the pictures. I cannot believe how fast they are growing. It makes me sad that time is going so fast, but I am excited to watch them grow and see their personalites emerge. Way and I have the most amazing kids and we are so blessed that we can have them for eternity.

Karate Kid

I have been dying to post these pictures of Jayden in his Karate Uniform....I know it has a name I just can't think of what it is right now. But anyways Jayden started Karate about 2 weeks ago and he is doing awesome. It is amazing how quickly he is learning all the rules and he is creating some good friendships with some of the kids in his class. It is so cute to watch a 2 (almost 3) year old bow on and off the mat and say "YES SIR" to his teacher. I can see already that this is going to be really good for him. I love my Karate Kid!!!!

15 Miles....Are you kidding me?

15 miles yes that is correct. That is how far I ran last night. Wayland came home from boot camp a couple of weeks ago telling me he has some boot campers who run a lot and that I should run with them. Little did I know that they are training for the Boston Marathon, which is in April, so they are pretty high up on the mileage chart. So when I talked to them yesterday they told me they were running 15 or 16 miles and they would love for me to join them. I let them know in advance I probably would not make it the whole way but I would do my best. The farthest I have ever run was two weeks ago in my first half marathon 13.1 mile so I knew 15 would be a jump for me, but I did it. I am so proud of myself, my legs hate me, but I am so excited to have people to run with that will push me. Until next time....
